From my earliest childhood memories I've had an interest in 'space.' My
formal introduction to astronomy came from a high school teacher who showed
his students the night sky with through a orange 8-inch Celestron Schmidt Cassegrain
from the roof of the
school building one winter night in 1976. After that I had to have my own
scope and bought a 4 1/4 -inch Edmund Scientific. Although the amount of time
I've spent star gazing has waxed and waned over the years due to other
responsibilities, I've never lost that sense of wonder and awe of the
cosmos. Now, with my own children, I see that same curiosity and hope to
introduce them to the wonders of the night sky.
